John Cosby and David Gallup Plein-Air Workshop
"Painting the Channel Islands"
Okay, for years now you've all been pleading me to take you painting on the Channel Islands. After much time and consideration, I've found a way to make that happen in a workshop no attendee will ever forget.
Thirty lucky artists (and some non-painting spouses) will join legendary coastal artist John Cosby and myself for a plein-air workshop experience of a lifetime. "Conception", the custom-built live-aboard dive ship built by Truth Aquatics, will take John, me, a staff of six (including chef, by the way) and thirty artists to paint on location in the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary. Attendees will learn to work in the challenging environs of the islands and coastal waters therein. Kayaks will be provided, the snorkeling is amazing, and certified divers will be encouraged to join John and David in exploring the kelp forests and reefs of what Jacques Cousteau called "The Greatest Cold-Water Diving in the World".
Fees: $1,500 per artist, includes kayaks, great food, and accommodations. Non-painting spouses are welcome for an additional $900 each.
